Radiant App Reviews
I played this game on my iDevices for a long time and I loved it from the very beginning. Now I bought it on my mac and the game is still wonderful, 4 stars for that. But sadly, it doesnt deserve the fifth star - how it works on my mac. There is absolutely no difference to the iOS-version, but an iPod Touch and an iPhone just arent full macs. A mac game needs the possibility to be played in a window, not only full-screen, it needs better key support - when youre typing your player name, the backspace key works like the delete key, emberassing - and the mouse has to disappear while active playing. Also some of the controls need to be worked over, they were just translated directly into other commands from the iOS, but as I said, a mac computer is not an iDevice. Space to pause would be a good start, nearly every game and almost every video player works this way, it became natural to hit it. If all these things are fixed, Ill spend 5 stars ;) Keep up the good work, and please release more scenarios! I played through all three in just 3 hours...
This is a pretty solid shooter if you like old school game like space invaders and asteroids. You can upgrade your spaceship with diferrent weapon. A must have for casual gamer or nostalgic gamer like me. 1.99$ is a steal !!
You cant move up and down, just left and right on the bottom of the screen. You have no control over firing (it just shoots two every second). Some of your bullets dont reach the meanies because they dont have distance, so you have to keep firing aimlessly and wait for them to come within range. Waste of $2.
Fun
Reminiscent of old arcade games. Enjoyable diversion.
fun cheep game
this game is very fun this game is very cheep Ive already sunk a couple hours into it and am still having a blast!
I started playing this game, and really liked it, although there are a couple things that I would like to be added, such as being able to play it in a window instead of full screen. Keep up the good work!
This is the most boring game in the world. It looks cute, the music is fantastic (best thing about it) but the pace is soooo slow. I swear, you can just leave your ship, go off and make lunch, have a coffee, phone a friend, balance your cheque book, come back, and itll still be going. I am still not sure how you lose a ship. The aliens dont crash into you, they just fly around a lot. The plotline is cute, but given how simple this game is, its depressing the universe is being destroyed by such boring aliens.
So Addictive
Love wasting hours playing this on my iPhone, now I can waste hours on my MacBook. Wicked.
If the screenshots are to be believed, this game gets exciting in the later levels - but it couldnt hold my attention long enough. You start off with a ship that fires *automatically*, i.e. you just move the ship right and left and wait for the bullets to come out. Which they do... slowly. Then you upgrade your weapons, hoping for a little more oomph... but the upgraded weapons fire automatically as well. Its also not particularly hard, so I found my attention drifting quickly. Theres some other gameplay issues as well. You have to sit through many screens of dialogue before getting to play each level - I thought the whole *appeal* of these old-school shooters was the ability to just get straight to playing. The enemies bullets tend to be the same color as they are, so its hard to see them coming; and when your ship takes damage theres little or no indication, so the first time I died I didnt even realize it had happened. Lots of annoying little quirks like that make this games high rating questionable. Not recommended unless you really need to be distracted and have two bucks to burn.
Awesome game and music, only issues is like others, wish it was manual fire instead of auto, plus I cant figure out how to upgrade weapons, just changing colors on the screen, lil help?
Pretty Fun
Cant complain for the price... I only wish I could control when to fire.
one reviewer hit it on the nose. good for putting you to sleep. its not that the production values arent their, because, they really are their. good music, and good retro graphics. but the game play is not their. this game is mimicking space invaders, which is an awesome arcade bullet game. except this game has flipped it on its side and inverted the game. space invaders is not that colorful and preaty, but it moves along at a fast pace, lots of action. this game does not move on, it drags you along for a ride. example. space invaders bullets fired in two second span (20) radian bullets fired in two second span (2) rough estimate, but acurate. this game is the pre school version of space invaders, colorful and cool music, slow gameplay. it was fun while i played, but it doesent grab my atention to want to play again.
This game is really funn! its like Galaga but just more 21st century if you know wat i meen? but i have 1 question...is it supposed to be shooting on its own??
There is a DISAPPOINTING scaling problem: I like using only the plasma gun (and laser for the "smart one"), but the shots cannot even reach the enemies, unlike the iPhone version, in which you wouldnt sit and wait for them to come down! There is also a problem when using the laptops trackpad, a solution could be to allow selecting entries with the arrow keys and enter without any mouse interaction, and use ENTER to skip conversations (I expected it to be controlled by moving the mouse at first however).
Awesome game, Hexage
You obviousely put effort into this. It ia very fun and very addicting.
There is no manual firing mechanism, it is evident that this game was lazily ported over from iOS. Developers need to realize that when porting a game from iOS to the Mac better control schemes are possible, expected and desired. When porting things over, developers need to re-evaluate design decisions that were made for the sake of a buttonless touch screen interface and throw those away. I.E. LET THE USER CONTROL THE GAME.
Fun snoozer
The game is pretty to look at. The real challenge is in trying to keep playing the game. Overall this game stops being fun after 10 minutes.
Why does it start from the very begining every time there is a game over??????? even after so many levels!! on the ipad it starts from where you failed the last time.... this is just frustrating... after all those levels to start again!
This game is awesome and addicting. I love the upgrades and the different aliens/monsters. This game is very fun. I show this game to all my friends and they love it. I really enjoy it because of all the different stages. If you like retro games, you will love this game. I hope I can still study!
I like the clean and pretty visuals, they have that 8-bit style with a little of modern gen flair. The game is what you see above, if youve played Galaga, you know what to expect. My only complaint comes with the music, I would love to have had some sort of driving techno-style music to sort of instill a sense of panic and urgency. The music that is playing is WAY too calm for my taste in a game where the enemies just keep coming.
